Overview:

As part of the Security team, the Product Security Intern will help support and advance the security of TraceLinks applications. Working closely with the Product Security team, this role will improve security integration throughout the software development lifecycle. This includes activities such as supporting application security tools, developing and using applications to automate security tasks, and investigating findings from tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Learn and apply new concepts and best practices in Application Security

  • Build features and maintain team-developed application security tools

  • Research secure coding best practices for company-relevant programming languages

  • Update and maintain secure coding standards and other security knowledge base

  • Analyze data provided to the Product Security team for reported issues

  • Perform security testing activities during assessment periods of TraceLink products

  • Review source code pull requests for security-related considerations

  • Triage security issues reported through tooling or disclosure communications

  • Create documentation, reports, and follow-up tasks from team exercises

  • Support efforts where needed for Product Security initiatives

  • Work in an agile process; maintaining assigned stories and providing regular updates

Skills and Requirements:
  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems Security, or a related field

  • Familiarity with the OWASP Top 10

  • Java coding experience

  • Willingness to learn and apply best security practices

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with the Spring Boot framework

  • Familiarity with MVC architecture

  • A hacker's mindset
