Position: QA Supervisor
Location: Florence, SC
**JOB SUMMARY:**
Our client's company is looking for a QA Supervisor to maintain and improve food safety and quality standards. This role requires a proactive approach to implementing, monitoring, and maintaining quality assurance programs. The QA Supervisor will also ensure adherence to food safety regulations and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the quality assurance department.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Oversee all food safety and quality policies, procedures, and programs.
- Manage the execution of plant programs to ensure food safety.
- Develop and enhance quality assurance systems including HACCP, TQC, raw material assessment, product recalls, pre-shipment reviews, and pest control measures.
- Analyze quality data, communicate findings, and initiate necessary corrective actions.
- Supervise the daily operations within the designated area, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to HACCP, company, and USDA standards, and manage the release of HACCP documentation.
- Generate and maintain accurate weekly and monthly reports.
- Record and document departmental activities in accordance with company requirements.
- Optimize material use, refine quality assurance processes, and minimize inefficiencies.
- Provide training for QA Auditors and other department members.
- Maintain and update the QA Hold Tag log.
- Collaborate with the QA Manager and Plant Manager to address quality issues and achieve production goals.
- Ensure regular attendance and punctuality as essential job functions.
- Perform additional tasks as required or instructed.
- Conduct audits in cold environments, such as -10-degree freezers.
- Inspect raw materials and verify packaging temperatures to ensure regulatory compliance.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
- A Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, poultry or meat science, animal science, or a related field is preferred.
- Alternatively, 3-4 years of leadership experience with training in quality/food safety, sanitation, or related industry is acceptable.
