Walter USA in Cleveland, OH is looking for a:

Quality Technician

Walter has an opening for a Quality Technician to provide Quality Assurance support to all departments in our Cleveland, Ohio location.

Key Performance Areas

  • Perform dimensional, mechanical, and visual inspections on components and products to verify conformance to specifications set forth by engineering. Obtain the ability to use all inspection equipment, and understand Quality methodology. Acquire the knowledge to inspect product within the scope of tooling business units and report nonconformances. Develop and maintain inspection records both manually and electronically as required, and report trends when found.
  • Initiate and assist in prevention and corrective action to eliminate waste. Detect nonconformances early in the process stream, so labor, scrap and rework/repair of materials can be minimized. Participate on corrective action teams as assigned to drive for root cause determination.
  • Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) to add information to the analysis of the discrepancy.
  • Train other employees on inspection methods. Assist with the development of inspection methods to maintain QA standards.
  • Support operators by addressing their problems or questions concerning quality.
  • Support the process for inspection of first pieces on set-up, or shift changes in a timely and efficient manner
  • Inform Manager of departmental needs to ensure that QA goals and activity requirements are met. Perform Work-In-Process inspection


Your Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing mechanical piece part inspection or equivalent machinist experience. Have the ability to read / interpret blue prints, and understand geometric tolerancing.
  • Ability to check products and components for dimensional conformity to size, hardness, finish, and appearance, per instructions.
  • Ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments and fixtures. Ability to set up ordinary gauging and measuring devices.
  • Must have ability to work independently, and with others.
  • Must be highly organized, motivated, take-charge individual who is a team player.
  • Be willing to upgrade personal skills through seminars and courses.
  • Computer literacy utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
