Description

The Program and Activity Lead Staff is responsible for assisting the Recreation Lead Coordinator in the planning, management, and operation of recreation programs and activities.

  • Lead activities while maintaining an energetic and positive attitude.
  • Drive participants in a District vehicle to and from activities safely.
  • Keep inventory of participants throughout activities.
  • Communicate with participants and staff in a clear respectful manner.
  • Conduct daily check-in and check-out of participants.
  • Assist the Recreation Coordinator as needed.
  • Prepare facilities for activities with necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Clean up sites and vehicles when activities are complete.

Working Conditions, Physical Requirements, and Aptitudes
  • Duties are performed indoors and outdoors, including working in inclement weather, and extreme temperatures.
  • Duties primarily performed in a public setting, requiring constant interaction with a variety of people.
  • Work effectively with crowds, uncooperative participants, difficult situations, emergency response, and periods of continuous demand.
  • Work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays depending on department needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • 21 years of age or older with a valid US driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within one (1) month of hire.

The successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check and subsequent mandatory background checks in accordance with current District policy requirements.

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience working with group activities.


Part-time and seasonal employees receive a free membership to the Fieldhouse during employment.
