Overview

Direct, supervise, and evaluate the maintenance team in the essential duties ensuring the quality of services delivered to the clients meets and exceeds our standards and contractual obligations. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the Maintenance Technicians.

This role will pay a wage of $28.00 - $36.00 per hour.

About the Venue

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Providence, the RICC is within walking distance to restaurants, hotels, shops, art galleries, night clubs, museums and more. We offer 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, 20,000 square feet of ballroom space, 23 meeting rooms, and 30,000 square feet of pre-function space.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and work alongside with the maintenance facilities Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning assigning and directing work,
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance services involved at the RICC and including general maintenance, rails, staging, fixtures, carpentry, painting, electical work, locksmith, escalators/elevator, fire panel, windows, and airwalls and associated
  • Perform regular maintenance on all electrical, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC systems, and repair or replace same as needed
  • Monitor and operates facility electrical, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC equipment as needed
  • Train, motivate and evaluate staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination
  • Assist in establishing and monitoring work performance and safety
  • Uphold all relevant federal, state and local building regulations including EEOC, FLSA, OSHA, NFPA, NEC and ADA regulations.
  • Prioritize, plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility maintenance personnel; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow; inspect work product of subordinates to ensure accuracy and timeliness of completion; meet with staff to review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures and to identify and resolve challenges
  • Solicit and review cost estimates.
  • Order supplies and materials for maintenance programs within budget guidelines; receive and maintain supplies.
  • Maintain cost records of work
  • Track, record and report labor allocations in all areas of functional responsibility
  • Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and required records and permits; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulation
  • Maintaining an accurate record keeping system including using a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).
  • Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assigning and tracking all maintenance department related items for all work
  • Maintain ordering of proper supplies for maintenance and show requirements in a timely
  • Research and recommend equipment, tools, materials and supplies to fulfill needs of Engineering Department.
  • Ensure proper supplies are maintained at all times for necessary repairs and
  • Maintain positive working relationships with service contractors, suppliers, utility companies and firms doing business with the RICC and promote coordinated services to
  • Plan, coordinate, and communicate with other departments including RICC Event Services team and subcontractors (catering, parking, etc.) to ensure that the arrangements and services ordered by those departments are available when and where needed by the clients together with adequate staff to service these event

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/G.E.D .
  • Must be Licensed Electrician
  • Vocational training with specialized training in the facility maintenance field or related building systems.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in general maintenance and carpentry or related building systems, and knowledge.
  • Required 1 year's supervisor
  • Demonstrated skill in managing multiple functions and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and a commitment to team results are
  • Knowledge of current practices in the maintenance
