  • Able to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Have established talents with PCB terminologies, tools and components to create these assemblies.
  • Knowledgeable in resistor color codes, component identification, symbols, values, polarity, functioning as in potentiometer, motor and switches.
  • Strip, tin, crimp, solder, tie wrap/spot tie, insert/extract contacts on wire and in connectors, distinguish and use required hand tools.

Purpose of Position

Wires simulated instruments and modifies actual aircraft instruments and panels.

Tasks And Responsibilities

Continuing development level performs more varied and difficult aspects of position compared to entry or intermediate. This level requires considerable know-how of the subject matter, principles, and concepts of more complex work. Subject matter expert in wiring simulated instruments and modification of actual aircraft instruments and panels. Able to perform full scope of activities associated with job which includes the most difficult aspects.- Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.- Aligns and assembles parts such as leads, coils, wires, tabs and terminals.- Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals and contact points.- Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets. Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.- Performs on-line go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

Minimum Education

High school diploma

Minimum Experience

  • three years related experience and/or training

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Basic computer skills, Word and Excel a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
