Assistant Systems Administrator

Job Description:
The Assistant Systems Administrator works in a team environment supporting day-to-day operations of both technical and administrative aspects of administrative and academic computing systems.

Skills:

- Skilled in systems administration and oracle databases in enterprise environment on UNIX/Linux system platforms

- Skilled with NIX virtualization experience with Linux Containers, oracle VM Servers.

- Skilled with backing up enterprise data and systems to disks and tapes on Unix systems

-Proficiency in networking fundamentals, including VPN, DHCP, DNS, IPv4, IP Subnets, as well as routing, switching and VLANs

Job Duties:

Build, support, and maintain University's portal (Luminis portal by Ellucian), web page interfaces with Ellucian Banner (ERP), and assistance with CU's mobile app

Work closely with the Systems Administrator in administration of Banner ERP and associated software stack running on Unix and Linux platforms

Perform data analysis and development with SQL, PL/SQL along with database administration as needed on Oracle, MySQL databases

SSL security certifications of university web applications running on oracle middleware, Apache Tomcat, and others. Perform software upgrades and patching to Banner ERP modules supporting different areas such as HR, Student, Finance, and others.

Research, planning, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise software on Unix systems Development and maintenance of in-house programs, shell scripts, and others whose purpose could be anywhere between data reporting to services monitoring at the OS level

Serve as a point of contact for any ERP related issues and relay the tasks to appropriate personnel

Outstanding customer service

Handle and resolve help desk tickets and support end users as needed.

Be proactive on identifying issues and working on resolution, documentation, and communication with IT manager and peers

Recommend and enact in making improvements to systems, security, IT infrastructure

Other duties may be assigned as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

24 months of experience computer science or related field
