Licensed Creative Arts Therapist/ Pediatric Art Therapist - Days

Our Licensed Creative Arts Therapists join forces with the Child Life Department, working alongside physicians, nurses, social workers, and clinical professionals to normalize the health care environment for young patients. Music therapists at Komansky Children's Hospital support pediatric patients and families to alleviate anxiety and depression, decrease stress, improve coping, manage pain, and help patients and families process psychosocial and emotional difficulties related to medical illness, mental illness, trauma, and loss.
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM day shift position. Includes some weekend and 1 holiday rotation
Preferred Criteria:
Previous professional experience working with children/families in a hospital setting
Required Criteria:
One to three years of experience
Previous professional experience working with children/families in a hospital setting
Master's degree in related field
Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) by NYS Office of Professions
Registration as a Art Therapy Registration (ATR)
Proficient in modalities pertaining to specific Creative Arts Therapy discipline
Completion of a successful internship in specific Creative Arts Therapy discipline
Advanced interpersonal skills to be able to interact with pediatric patients, families
Proficient oral and written communication skills
