SkyBridge Luxury & Associates is currently seeking an experienced Director of Spa & Wellness to join an Ultra-Luxury Resort in the Los Angeles area. If you're passionate about delivering exceptional spa experiences and have a proven track record in luxury hospitality, we want to hear from you!


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

A day in the life of our Director of Spa & Wellness demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike, and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our Director of Spa & Wellnessr accomplishes would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know.


To ensure consistency, our Director of Spa & Wellness is provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


  • Our Director of Spa & Wellness is responsible for being a brave and passionate leader who provides oversight of job responsibilities, performance expectations, client service standards, and hotel policies and procedures to their direct reports during their day. This will include providing memorable moments and emotional connections with the team, clients, and guests by ensuring proper input of information into the guest information management system and providing open communication. They will also train, assess employee performance, and develop guest service initiatives and wellness goals to guide staff in goal achievement to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best and healthiest experience.
  • Sometimes our guests have special requests involving inquiries, complaints, spa treatments, and even special occasions. Most of these requests are fulfilled by our Director of Spa & Wellness
  • Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our Director of Spa & Wellness is relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct them.
  • Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Director of Spa & Wellness must communicate with other departments and extended hotel teams in order to ensure the alignment remains.


Operational

  • Attend Leadership meetings and participate in projects as required.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working order
  • Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and providers
  • Implement a clearly established opening and closing procedure and other procedures as required for the therapy team


Financial

  • Interpret financial reports and provide insight on the story behind the figures.
  • Implement opportunities for managing operational costs and boosting the bottom line.
  • Develop procedures for accurate inventory control and monitoring.
  • Comply with purchasing standards for professional and retail products.
  • Administer staff and client scheduling for maximum revenue generation and profitability.
  • Research and make recommendations for alternative treatment and product partners.


Marketing

  • Support the Spa by staying on top of Spa industry trends.
  • Consistently develop and grow retail sales through training tools and monitoring.
  • Ensure the Spa s appearance is in line with maximum buyer impact.
  • Work with the Culinary team to create a wellness identity for the Hotel.

Customer Service

  • Anticipate, identify, and ensure customer needs are being met at all times.
  • Obtain guest feedback from verbal inquiries, monitor feedback, and respond when required.
  • Develop and deliver credible, competitive, value-plus service to the customer.
  • Guide the team to become caring problem solvers, cooperative, accommodating, and fair.
  • Exhibit a professional attitude, diplomacy, and an ability to handle difficult situations.
  • To complete duty manager walk rounds and checks sheets when required


People & Culture

  • Assist with recruiting, trade testing, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Implement ongoing skills training to ensure service standards are being upheld.
  • Perform PDP review and follow through on action plans.
  • Demonstrate an exceptional level of professionalism to inspire the spa team.
  • Create a motivating environment of sincerity, warmth, and fun for the team


Flexibility

  • Along with your main duties, you may be asked to complete other tasks as and when necessary and reasonably required

You may on occasion be required to adjust your hours of work to cover the hotel's needs


QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRABLES

  • All of our employees are ambassadors of our Vision, Values, and culture. Our Director of Spa & Wellness does this with all they do.
  • English is the primary language used in our hotel. Our Director of Spa & Wellnessr must feel comfortable communicating in this language.
  • Attention to detail is critical for this role.
  • We pride ourselves in nurturing an environment where Working Together is a must. Our Director of Spa & Wellness is our biggest champion of this.
  • Our hotels operate nonstop, this requires flexibility from everyone on the team.
  • CIDESCO, CIBTAC,BTEC or equivalent
  • Previous management experience
  • Five-star operations experience would be ideal
  • Good understanding of Spa reception operations
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple treatments and product houses
  • Understanding of Health & Safety within a Spa environment
  • Experience with Spa computer reservation systems
  • Ability to train others
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Budgets and P&L
