Description

(Level I or Level II Needed)

Job Functions:

  • Perform and interpret non-destructive evaluations/testing (NDT) inspections on aircraft components.
  • Performs non-destructive evaluations of metallic parts using Fluorescent Penetrant inspection.
  • Complete all records of inspection including rejection reports as applicable.
  • Reads and interprets complicated blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor specifications. Evaluates and documents results.
  • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
  • Performs daily checks of equipment used for non-destructive evaluations.
  • Assists with selection and set-up of nondestructive equipment for nondestructive testing methods.
  • Supports inspection of receiving, in-process and final inspection of parts, assemblies, accessories and materials for conformance to specifications.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit and Harlow Aerostructures.


Position Requirements

Skills:
  • Be proficient in understanding and interpreting approved technical data and Blueprints.
  • Have analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specs.
  • Be detailed oriented and able to multi-task high volumes of work in a fast paced environment without sacrificing quality.
  • Have knowledge of the FAA regulations.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Knowledge and experience with lean and continuous improvement philosophies and methodologies, preferred.

Education and Experience:
  • NDT Level I Certification
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • NDT experience within an aerospace environment, preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment FAA drug screening test and subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol screening program
