Position Details:
The Infrastructure and Network Operations Manager will oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of core systems, manage networking staff, ensure compliance, and coordinate with external vendors. You play a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency, security, and alignment with organizational goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage effectively with the technology directorate, managing expectations and providing realistic assumptions on what can be achieved
- Oversee all project work undertaken by the Infrastructure Team ensuring all agreed work is completed to agreed schedules. Define, measure, manage and communicate risks and issues, ability to define project scope and success criteria, ability to understand and prepare first drafts of business cases
- Translate technical concepts into business capabilities and present the benefits and limitations of each approach to non-technical stakeholders
- Act as a point of escalation for the Infrastructure Engineers to ensure a timely resolution of all incidents to agreed SLA's (on the horizon)
- Maintain and support all Acacium Infrastructure across all sites, DC's and Cloud, proactively preventing incidents
- Provide agreed Management reports to Head of Infrastructure at the end of every month
- Complete and report on quarterly capacity planning across the estate or more frequently if required
- Agree backup schedule with Head of Infrastructure, Manage and maintain backup's across Acacium's environments, tracking backup failures. Ensure backup and restore processes are regularly tested
- Provide half yearly reports and plans for Lifecycle management of all hardware across the estate. Ensure hardware supporting each site is within agreed age tolerances
- Provide detailed budget requirements to Head of Infrastructure by 1st September annually
- Ensure all spend is agreed with Head of Infrastructure in advance, tracked and reported on each month
- Through research, training and networking, Identify improvements for consideration by Head of Infrastructure
- Ensuring all processes are documented and up to date. Ensuring policies are put in place for any work implemented and regularly checked
- Identify training requirements for your Infrastructure Team and collaborating with ServiceDesk and D&M on potential training requirements required downstream
- Ensure changes to Infrastructure are appropriately planned, documented and executed using an approved change control process, making sure that relevant people are aware, backout plans are documented/tested and post implementation reviews are completed
- Monitor and maintain all patch levels as agreed with InfoSec. Ensure all zero-day alerts are actioned in a timely manner
- Utilize our monitoring platform pro-actively monitor alerts and react to alerts keeping downtime to a minimum. Participate in Major Incident Management Bridges as required
- Proactively identify routine maintenance activities which can be outsourced to a third party and oversee the service transition
- Ensure KPI's are set, agreed, managed, monitored and achieved for you and the Infrastructure Team
- In collaboration with the Information Security team, monitor and maintain Acacium's infrastructure/SIEM security solutions. Provide monthly security reporting to Head of Infrastructure
Preferred Work Experience:
- 5-10 years of work experience in IT systems, preferably in networking or systems-related administration.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience
- Experience in network protocols, hardware, and software, as well as familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions
