**What youll be doing**
* Provide technical accounting interpretation of financial accounting standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
* Perform monthly financial close tasks
* Oversee recording of monthly and yearly accounting entries
* Prepare and analyze periodic financial statements for internal and external review
* Monitors financial results ensuring data integrity
* Perform year-end reporting
* Lead special accounting projects and recommend accounting policies
* Independently respond to internal and external ad hoc requests for accounting information
* Accounting responsibilities related to asset acquisitions, trades, and sales
**Required Skills**
* Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards
* Robust accounting and analytical skills
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Ability to communicate and articulate complex data and results internally and externally
* Business controls knowledge
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Must work well in a team environment under pressure of closing deadlines
* Continuous Improvement/Business Process Improvement knowledge
* Ability to interface with all levels of management and clearly explain financial data and variances
* Oil & Gas financial accounting background desirable
**Required Experience**
* Minimum 10 years accounting experience
* BA/BS in accounting
* CPA preferred
* SAP experience desirable
