We are currently looking for a Buyer with a team player mentality. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks simultaneously. An individual who takes pride and ownership in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and send POs by analyzing MRP based on lead-time and customer demand. Maintain and review records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
  • Confirm receipt of the purchase order to the Supplier. Manage confirmations to confirm that price and delivery dates are accurate.
  • Own Purchase Order management. Contact Suppliers on past due POs and reschedule receipts accordingly.
  • Notify Customer Service personnel if requested deliveries cannot be met and communicate new delivery dates
  • Follow up on open orders as needed, resolve vendor issues and handle related correspondence. Act as a liaison between suppliers, Frontmatec Customer Service, and warehouse personnel.
  • Work with appropriate internal or external contacts to resolve or escalate issues to management as needed. Advise management of any vendor or purchasing issues or concerns.
  • Handle all quote requests from Customer Service for customer parts orders.
  • Manage Customer Backlog reports to ensure timely delivery from suppliers.
  • Expedite aftermarket parts/customer orders as needed.
  • Enter Expense PO's as needed.


Requirements

  • Knowledge of best practices in Procurement.
  • Solid analytical skills to evaluate multiple suppliers to ensure accurate pricing, quality, on time delivery, and other relevant factors utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Expertise in MS Excel is a plus.
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve fill rate efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and work toward a strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of APS and MRP purchasing and planning modules.
  • Experience in Microsoft AX a plus.
  • Desire to solve problems, be self-directed, and be detail-oriented.
  • Experience with international suppliers desired.


Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of related purchasing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Have experience in the meat industry. (an advantage)
