The Legal Affairs department is responsible for rendering legal advice related to the healthcare, business, and academic matters. * Experience working at an executive level office and providing high level specialized support to executive leadership.

* Excellent written and oral communications skills.

* Demonstrated project management skills to provide support to attorneys.

* Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and gather and synthesize large amounts of facts/data, determine course of action and formulate recommendations supported by facts.

* Ability to make timely, well-considered decisions which promote the mission, values and vision of UC Davis Healthand to assure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

* Ability to communicate by telephone and in person in an effective, courteous, cooperative and diplomatic manner.

* Ability to work effectively under stressful situations which may include, but is not limited to, heavy workload, conflicting priorities, frequent interruptions, and abrupt and changing deadlines.

* Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships throughout the University and local community.

* Ability to be highly organized, efficient and expeditious.

* Knowledge and experience with handling highly confidential and privileged materials.

* Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience of computer networks and document management systems and software applications such as Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word.

* Knowledge of legal research tools (i.e., Westlaw, Lexis).

* Knowledge of methods to research information on specific topics; analytical skills to identify and perform necessary investigation of ancillary topics.

* Knowledge of the general regulatory process (i.e., statutes, regulations, governmental agencies and policies) affecting health operations.

* Ability to read, understand and interpret legal documents, statutes, and regulations and summarize findings.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Familiarity with general accounting functions.
