**Summary:** To assist in all activities related to the purchasing and receipt of assigned raw materials. The position interfaces with Planning, Production, QA, Procurement, Accounting, Logistics, and other departments as necessary to perform job duties.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
* Review daily shortages for the plant, plan and execute offsite transfers as needed to support production.
* Interface with suppliers to follow up on open purchase orders, update purchase orders following supplier order confirmations such as PO cost, receipt date, or freight cost.
* Maintains and fosters positive supplier relationships with focus on innovation and supply continuity.
* Apprise category owner of any issues with purchase orders, cost changes, or production issues as necessary.
* Actively involved in the resolution of problems and issues with raw materials and packaging.
* Plans for future requirements and maintains production through ensuring flow of inventory that meets demand without exceeding inventory levels or generating expired raw materials.
* Analyze, cleanse and refine data to create robust reporting utilized to make suggestions to meet locational and organizational KPIs.
* Execution of buy plans through monitoring of inventory levels, PO placement, and pulling in or pushing out of POs where necessary.
* Manage open purchase order reporting.
* Active participant in the identification of expiring raw materials and submission of shelf-life extensions where needed.
* Assist in maintaining records and documentation pertaining to past activities, order specifications, supplier specifications and performance histories, etc.
* Data management: maintaining item and supplier records and MRP settings to ensure accurate PO and transfer suggestions that align with strategy for assigned manufacturing site(s).
* Participate in continuous improvement personally and departmentally in accordance with corporate expectations.
* Comply with Safety Policies.
**Education and/or Experience**
* Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.
