Small Parcel Packer Labeler

BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:

The Small Parcel Processor supports the North American Distribution Center by working to Distribution Center standards to pack and label product and material for timely shipment to customers per the specific shipping instructions.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Confirms and processes small parcel shipments through system of record

Verification of package weight and shipment information is accurate

Records shipment statistics in system of record

Adjusts system or statistical data (product weight, shipping specifications, address information) when appropriate

Printing and application of shipping labels on packaging, staging for shipment

Follows quality verification standards to ensure conformance to Oregon Tool standards

Other tasks as assigned

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or nationally recognized regionally accredited equivalent required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

Three to six months in a similar position within a manufacturing or distribution center

Six months experience utilizing Fed-Ex, UPS or other shipping software preferred

Six months experience utilizing SAP or other ERP system preferred

Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 75 pounds

Know and understand common acronyms and packaging terminology

Monitoring performance of self, others, or organization to make improvements or take corrective actions

Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related document

Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Operations Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Ability to perform routine tasks for the scheduled shift.

Ability to count with demonstrated accuracy, within specific time constraints

Ability to learn to operate SAP computer system for required transactions

Ability to learn to operate RF scanner for tracking inventory picked and packed

Ability to operate motorized material handling equipment.

JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

A minimum of six (6) months experience in a very similar work environment:

Minimum six (6) months experience operating Electric Pallet Jacks.

Minimum six (6) months experience using RF guns.

Minimum six (6) months using small parcel shipping systems.
