Sub Assembly Technician III B Shift

Position Overview:

As an Assembly Technician, you will play a crucial role in the assembly of a diverse range of structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanically actuated component sub-assemblies. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision in the assembly process. This position involves working closely with engineers to review design concepts, provide valuable feedback, and support development tests. Additionally, you will conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic proof/leak testing and adhere to strict procedural compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of structural components to aerospace standards
  • Collaborate with engineers to review design concepts and provide feedback for ease of assembly
  • Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic proof/leak testing
  • Review, edit, and follow work instructions for assembly tasks with meticulous attention to detail
  • Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations
  • Safely handle hazardous systems containing chemicals and/or high pressure
  • Work effectively in a team environment with multiple and rapidly changing priorities

Qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or relevant fields
  • Experience working directly with solenoid, poppet, check, or ball valves
  • Familiarity with sealing interfaces in cryogenic systems; experience with Oxygen, Hydrogen, and/or Helium desired
  • Proficiency in fluid system fill, bleed, assembly, and purge operations
  • Experience in product design, manufacturing, construction, laser lab, prototyping, or machine shop environment
  • Knowledge of precision assembly processes utilizing LN2 or other freezing agents, vacuum ovens, shrink fits, interference fits, and running fits
  • Experience with safety critical systems
  • Ability to operate precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments
  • Experience assembling and troubleshooting aerospace, military hardware, or related fields
  • Proficiency in using standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment
  • Familiarity with 5S, FOD, and lean principles
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Proficient in documenting and maintaining accurate records, as well as reading drawings and prints
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
