Position Description

As the Mental Health Parity Compliance Program Manager, you will be responsible to ensure UCare is in compliance with mental health parity regulations. In addition, you will review policies, provide education and training, and implement resolutions to close compliance gaps. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will develop, implement and maintain processes to monitor mental health parity adherence and report to required government entities. In the event UCare is audited by a regulatory agency, you will serve as the point person with the auditors facilitating and managing the audit response process. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for this position, as you will interact with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and external partners.


  • Ensure ongoing processes are in place to evaluate and enhance compliance with mental health parity regulations.


  • Conduct regular reviews of relevant policies and procedures across the organization to ensure compliance with mental health parity regulations.


  • Develop and implement strategies and policies to address and reassess identified compliance gaps as it relates to Mental Health Parity.


  • Partner with internal departments to integrate mental health parity considerations into business practices.


  • Provide guidance and training to employees on mental health parity compliance. Partner with Corporate Learning & Development on the creation and delivery of trainings.


  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with regulatory bodies. In the event an outside regulatory audit occurs, serve as the primary contact with the auditors.


  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.


  • Stay informed about updates and trends in mental health parity laws and adjust compliance strategies accordingly.


  • Collaborate with external and internal partners to enhance mental health parity initiatives.


  • Track and report on key performance indicators related to mental health parity compliance.


  • Other projects and duties as assigned.


Education

Bachelor s degree demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.


Required Experience

Five years of experience working in a compliance role that focuses on utilization management and/or mental health parity laws and regulations. Experience in healthcare compliance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.


Preferred Experience

Mental health management at a health plan. Previous work with mental health parity. Project management experience. Ability to work independently across multiple departments.
