**Description**

**Primary/Key Responsibilities**

* Studies receiving notices, packing slips, and other records to determine priorities, work assignments, and receiving methods required to meet schedules

* Assist in planning, organizing, participating and monitoring the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received

* Monitors the unloading of all materials into the Receiving area

* Train, provide work direction and coordinate the activities of assigned personnel: assist in training associates on the unloading, receiving and movement of materials from inbound dock to staging area

* Compiles records of unfilled received shipments

* Assist with resolving discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver prepared reports

* Confer or correspond with management to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications

* Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for delivery of materials

* Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

* Assist with the unloading and receiving of goods to the receiving dock or proper staging area

* Verify goods received match purchase order or packing list

* Operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment in a professional and safe manner

* Assist in keeping warehouses clean and organized on a daily basis

* Observe and abide by all companys policy and safety regulations

* Performs other duties as assigned

**Education & Experience**

**Education:**

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Years of Experience:**

2+ years distribution

**S****pecial Certifications or Technical Skills:**

**Computer Skills:**

Basic computer skills; Excel, Word, Email. Basic math skills

**Skills and Ability:**

Follows instructions and responds to management direction.

**Language Skills:**

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
