Plymouth Tube is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious team member to join our Plant Leadership team. This person must embrace change, be self-motivated, and inspire others inside and outside the department. The individual should be able to communicate directly and openly with all levels in our organization. There will be many opportunities for the successful candidate to engage their innovative and creative problem-solving skills to help move the department to the next level. It is a must that the Plant Manager has a high degree of personal integrity in dealing with customers, superiors, subordinates, and co-workers and will represent Plymouth Tube Company in a professional manner. The successful candidate will live both in the big picture as well as in the details, desire to make an impact, and work well in a team and individually.


WHAT YOU LL BE DOING:

Directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and other production-related activities while ensuring the mill s number one priority is safety. You ll be leading the mill s culture initiative to create a great place to work for attracting and retaining top talent. Employ lean manufacturing techniques, visual controls, and plant performance measures to meet production goals and strives for continuous improvement. You ll provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and better working relationships.


WHAT YOU LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Seek to improve the mill s operational performance and competitive positioning through continuous improvement of production related processes.
  • Assisting with overseeing policies, procedures, and processes designed to minimize costs and maximize production.
  • Overseeing the mill s manufacturing processes and identifies opportunities for process improvement or efficiency optimization.
  • Developing a manufacturing plan and production schedule that increases profit while reducing overhead.
  • Working directly with department heads to coordinate purchasing, production, quality, and distribution processes, with the expectation of achieving budgeted year over year improvements in revenue, ROS, yield, and productivity.
  • Execute strategy deployment plans within the business including implementing, operating, and optimizing new technologies and processes that build on our sustainable competitive advantage and position the business for decades of highly profitable rapid growth.
  • Champion health, environment, and safety initiatives within the business, while maintaining compliance standards.
  • Provide expectations, accountability, and direction to direct reports.
  • Prepare and maintain plant budgets; control and monitor costs to maintain budget goals.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement concepts in all aspects of the business resulting in elimination of waste, clarity of purpose, and organizational focus, while driving continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Develop a culture that promotes involvement, communication, mutual trust & respect, expectations and accountability, and a passion for excellence.

WHAT YOU LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering, Material Science, Operations Management or Business; (But NOT required) and / or combination of education and equivalent relevant years of experience.
  • 8-10 years of Plant Manager manufacturing experience (IS REQUIRED)
  • A strong lean manufacturing/Six Sigma background
  • Previous experience in metals is strongly desired.
  • Travel required.
