Strategy and Planning

  1. Provide strategic leadership for the Projects function and oversee all Projects in terms of timeliness, cost effectiveness, quality and business impact of delivery
  2. Review and approve project plans in alignment with Epsilon s overall organizational objectives
  3. Proactively question existing processes and bring about automation/improvements to enhance efficiency and optimize results
  4. In partnership with the Strategy Team, forecast and plan new structure/plant commissioning and renovation/refitting projects for the upcoming year
  5. Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure fund flow is managed effectively
  6. Work closely with Operations team to align delivery schedules with operational requirements

Execution

  1. Prepare the annual project budgets and gather the necessary approvals for the same
  2. Evaluate feasibility studies conducted and share recommendations on the way forward with management
  3. Oversee all projects to ensure completion on time and within budget, using best-in-class resources
  4. Continuously undertake scenario planning and plan for contingencies/disruptions so that appropriate steps can be taken to mitigate risks without derailment of the project
  5. Manage project financials and develop guidelines on resource mobilisation to sufficiently supplement project requirements based on scope
  6. Oversee vendor management activities (eg: releasing tenders, identifying and evaluating vendors, defining SOW, negotiating rates, timely release of payments etc.) to enable the best quality of service is obtained at the optimum price
  7. Actively liaise with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs on their civil and maintenance (repair and upkeep) related requirements and cater to the same
  8. Closely monitor all project statuses and budgets and resolve any project escalations that may cause delay and budget overshoot
  9. Define the standards for data collection, project documentation and report writing
  10. Design a record-keeping system to ensure the upkeep of project documentation and for timely retrieval of information
  11. Provide periodic reports about existing and upcoming projects to the management and ensure it is in line with the overall business objectives
  12. Upon project completion, obtain feedback from key stakeholders and incorporate the same into future projects, to enhance quality of service provided
  13. Plan and systematically handover the completed projects to the respective functional and segments heads
  14. Lead the creation, approval and maintenance of material sample boards, to enhance standardization of practices

Engineering and Operationalization

  1. Liaise with the engineering team at the product engineering phase to ensure that the team gets adequate exposure to the product. Also ensure understanding of all operational requirements
  2. Oversee execution of engineering drawings, operationalization of new products
  3. Manage escalations in terms of quality issues, timelines or customer / external stakeholder complaints
  4. Prepare detailed plan in line with the project plan for all technology transfer projects (new plants and new machines)
  5. Ensure on time delivery of all Tech Transfer (new plants as well as new product operationalization) in a timely manner as per established plan

People development

  1. Take overall responsibility for people development initiatives and building up in-house capabilities for the employees in the department
  2. Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members
  3. Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles
  4. Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation
  5. Provide managerial guidance to individual role holders and ensure their growth and development
  6. Build a strong second line of leadership by providing direct reports with adequate exposure and growth opportunities
