Read on, PACE North might be just the opportunity for you!

What is PACE North? PACE stands for Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly. We are a new and unique option for individuals 55 and older who qualify for nursing facility level of care and wish to remain in their homes as they age. What does that mean? We care for the elderly at our day center on Garfield near Hammond during regular business hours and as needed in their home. If you've never heard of us before, that's okay since we're new to the region. PACE North began serving the 7 county region's elderly in 2019 and our service model is so popular it's growing quickly!

Do we have benefits? Yes! Our full-time team members enjoy; regular daytime work schedules, plentiful PTO and paid holidays, great insurance benefits with health insurance available immediately upon hire, 401k matching, regular wage reviews, and a development system designed to help you move forward. We also have a great team of professionals who are a joy to work with!

What does a Recreational Therapist Assistant at PACE North do? You can expect to lead individual and group activities for the elderly ranging from games like bingo, trivia, karaoke, or even trips to retailers and other local attractions. You'll assist in planning outings and special events for our participants, brainstorm creative ideas and methods for activities that meet our participants' needs and interests and providing PACE North participants with the most cheerful and professional service they've ever received!

Requirements

What qualifications should you bring to the table? We're looking for that special person who has a passion for working with seniors, enjoys leading their group activities, and brings an energetic approach. One of PACE North's values is Compassion, and you should have that in abundance. You should have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid CPR certification, although we can help with CPR training if needed! It would also be helpful if you've had 1 year of experience in dealing with the frail and/or elderly population.
