Senior Azure Data Engineer
HirePlace is seeking a highly motivated Senior Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain our Azure data warehouse and BI reporting solutions. In this role, you will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. Our client, a quickly growing healthcare organization in Nashville, needs someone well versed in Azure and can work contract to hire. As a Senior Azure Data Engineer you will work a hybrid onsite/remote schedule and join a small team of passionate professionals looking to make a difference in healthcare.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-performance data pipelines for ingesting and transforming data into the Azure data warehouse.
- Implement data models optimized for efficient querying and reporting.
- Develop and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages or Azure Data Factory pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Create and maintain dimensional models and cubes for multidimensional analysis.
- Design and develop reports and dashboards using Power BI or other BI tools.
- Collaborate with business analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Work in a small environment as a Swiss army knife and expert with raw healthcare data.
- Research and suggest new technologies or aid in selection of existing technology stack.
- Work with Synapse and/or Fabric for reporting features.
- Ensure data quality and implement data governance practices.
- Document data pipelines, data models, and reports.
Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services, including Azure Data Warehouse and Azure Data Factory.
- Proficient in SQL Server and T-SQL querying.
- Experience with data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.
- Experience with ETL tools and methodologies (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, etc.).
- Experience with BI tools like Power BI.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
