About the Position

The Packaging Operator sets up and runs food manufacturing equipment and performs other associated necessary functions to ensure a quality and compliant finished product.

Essential Functions: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.

  • Hand sorting, case packing, stacking pallets, and replenishing supplies.
  • Performs quality checks on all materials, ingredients, and finished product.
  • Performs preventive maintenance.
  • Active member of an AM Team associated with one of the lines
  • Performs daily and monthly sanitation of packaging areas.
  • Implements, maintains, and performs self audits on sanitation systems to assure ongoing full compliance to all applicable Federal, State, Local and Corporate regulations.
  • Take preventive action where needed to protect any product in the facility from contamination or adulteration.
  • Ensure documentation and work completed in the packaging area meets all requirements of Process quality, Compliance Quality, Food Safety Programs and Safety.
  • Provides assistance in training employees as changes or new methods arise.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Technical

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous food processing experience is preferred.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift when required, and work overtime when necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to and including 50 lb. bags throughout an 8 hour day.
  • Must be able to pass if requested basic reading/arithmetic test, physical agility test, background check, chemical screening and reference check prior to employment.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

As a member of the operations team, you will be exposed to a variety of physical demands that require you to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), climb stairs, exert energy, bend, twist and squat, and use tools and equipment. Employees stand and walk on concrete while wearing steel-toed shoes, uniforms, hair nets, bump caps, gloves and safety glasses. The use of company-provided hearing protection is also required in stated areas.
