Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for facility electrical designs for High Rise Mixed-Use Buildings, Resorts, Hotels, Multi-Family, Entertainment and more while assisting the project engineer and design team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand advanced electrical theory/calculations, electrical system components and devices.
- Have the ability to comprehend and implement inputs with minimal direction from the project engineer.
- Apply Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software to support project designs.
- Have a good understanding of codes, standards, and best practices and the ability to apply them within the electrical design.
- Be able to develop and draft power, lighting and fire alarm plans, single line/riser diagrams, panel and light fixture schedules.
- Have an understanding of the components of the mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems that will require power and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the electrical design.
- Attend internal and client coordination meetings with senior staff.
- Have problem solving abilities based on engineering principles and technical expertise.
- Learn the basics of project management and project budgets.
- Demonstrate growth potential for assuming more responsibility.
- Take personal ownership of assigned work.
Qualifications:
- degree and E.I.T. certification (required), PE preferred, along with relevant technical experience.
- experience in a professional A/E office, consulting firm, construction contractor, or equivalent.
- experience is desirable.
- to travel as needed.
- in Revit, AutoCAD, photometric software, and basic word processing/spreadsheet programs.
