Position Overview:
As a Commercial Auto and General Liability Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for managing complex claims involving commercial auto and general liability coverage for a public entity client. You will handle all aspects of the claims process, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and litigation management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling litigated claims and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of commercial auto and general liability claims, including those involving bodily injury, property damage, and other liabilities.
- Conduct thorough investigations to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
- Evaluate the potential for litigation and manage litigated claims effectively.
- Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel to develop and execute litigation strategies.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and other involved parties to achieve fair and equitable outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documenting all relevant information, communications, and decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. JD is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Auto and General Liability Claims Adjuster, with a focus on handling litigated claims.
- Must have an active NY Adjuster's license
- Must have prior experience handling claims for a public entity, municipality, or related account
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance policies, coverage, and regulations.
Compensation:
- $90,000 - $125,000/year
- Unlimited PTO
