We are a privately held, Northern Kentucky based (Walton, KY.) full-line steel service center. Our services include cutting, punches, shearing, section & angle cutting, notching, and plasma cutting. We work with manufacturing, industrial, tool shops & individuals; supplying them with Aluminum, Cold Rolled & Heat Finished Steel, Brass and Copper. We ship product anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States. We have been in business more than 45 years and dedicate ourselves to high quality customer service & pride ourselves on our reputation, with strong community roots.


POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for an energetic, self-directed, and experienced Business Manager/Bookkeeper to join our team and serve as a true business Partner to the Company s General Manager. This individual will be involved in all accounting functions for the Company, which includes billing & accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting activities, among other things. We are looking for someone who has attention to detail, ownership of results, good communication skills with an accounting background and education.


TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs billing & accounts receivable functions:

Sets-up new customers

Prepares daily billings/invoicing.

Process customer payments.

Maintains accounts receivable aging for management review.

Make customer collection calls, when necessary.

Other usual & customary billings & accounts receivable activities.

Allocation of material and labor from warehouse orders.


Performs accounts payable functions:

Sets-up new vendors.

Preparation of purchase orders.

Process vendor invoices & enters into the accounts payable system.

Prepare vendor payments (checks).

Other usual & customary accounts payable activities.


Performs general accounting functions:

Account reconciliations.

Journal entries.

Maintain general ledger & chart of accounts.

Other usual & customary general accounting activities.




Performs certain Human Resources related functions:

Payroll related items.

Oversee the day-to-day aspects of the benefit programs.


Conducts the monthly/periodic accounting close process.


Working with the Controller to ensure:

Timely & accurate reporting of financial results.

Develop & implement solid internal accounting controls.

Timely budget preparation.

Among other things.


Other administrative tasks as maybe required.


SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent.

Solid communication, management, planning, organizational & analytical skills.

At least 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Ability to build relationships within & throughout the organization.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly EXCEL, WORD & Power Point

High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with normal activities. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Attentive to detail; excellent organizational & problem-solving skills
