What you will be doing at Woodard & Curran:

Woodard & Curran is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate will work directly with experiences operators on a daily basis as part of the team. The ideal candidate should be focused and ambitious as career advancement opportunities are awarded based on performance. You will regularly participate in the daily operations and maintenance of our Industrial Wastewater Treatment facilities as directed by the Project Manager. This position requires the candidate to work a regular 40-hour week based on five (5) eight hour shifts from Tuesday through Saturday, 6:30am to 3:00pm. The ability to provide weekend and off hour coverage, and emergency response is required.

What you will need to succeed!

    • High School or trade school diploma is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
    • 2-4 years of experience in operations & maintenance of a water and/or wastewater treatment facility; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
    • Mechanical ability and overall adaptability to changing conditions and environments is required.
    • A hands-on approach to troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving maintenance related issues that arise in the treatment system.
    • New Jersey Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License (N), is preferred or the ability to obtain through the operator's exam, or reciprocity.
    • OSHA 40hr. HAZWOPER with current 8hr. refresher (if applicable).
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
    • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation' and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment system.
    • Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in water and wastewater treatment work and the ability to respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
    • Knowledge of computer applications.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply instructions, drawings and specifications for work assigned.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • A strong work ethic and team first approach are requirements for this position.
    • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.


$24.66 - $36.98 an hour

Depending on qualifications and experience.
