Chemical Lab Specialist


Job Details

We are seeking a temporary Chemical Lab Specialist to support the reconciliation of the chemical inventory, organization of chemical stocks, and implementation of a new inventory software for our program labs. This role will work under the direction of our clients' lab operations staff to complete the project and will be paid hourly. The projected timeline is 2-3 months, 20 - 30 hours per week. This role will not be temp to perm.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enter chemicals into inventory software by populating required fields and adding barcodes to bottles and locations.
  • Ensure proper chemical separation and storage.
  • Identify and set aside any chemical containers that require special attention (old, compromised, etc.).
  • Assist with inventory organization where applicable.
  • Bring CBTS Chemical Inventory up to compliance under Broad EHS standards.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 or older to work with hazardous chemicals.
  • An associate degree or equivalent and 1-2 years of experience in a chemistry lab are preferred. Undergraduates with a strong chemistry background/experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong adherence to lab safety is required. Standard lab safety training and compliance are required throughout the project, and training will be part of billable hours.
  • Task-oriented with solid attention to detail.
  • Values organization and completing tasks efficiently.
  • Experience with inventory software is a plus.
  • This is a fully onsite role.



COMPENSATION AND TIME

  • 20 hours 30 hours per week, $26/hour
