Director of Nursing

Avista Nursing and Rehab is working towards our mission to provide quality long-term care and related health services. We are seeking an experienced RN to grow our leadership team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintains and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Evaluates the work performance of nursing personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies.
• Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care
• Exercises overall supervision of resident assessments and care plans.
• Collaborates with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems.
• Coordinates nursing services with all other departments including Therapy.
• Ensure resident safety.
• Oversees the management of staffing schedules and call outs to insure overtime budgetary compliance.
• Proactively develops positive employee relations, incentives, and recognition programs.
• Performs rounds to observe care and to interview staff, residents, families or other interested parties.
• Establishes, implements, and monitors the infection control program
• Participates in the preparation of the Plan of Correction
• Communicates directly with residents, families, medical staff, nursing staff, interdisciplinary team members, and Department Heads
• Promotes customer service and hospitality
• Monitors facility incidents and complaints
• Acts in an administrative capacity in the absence of the Administrator.

Educational requirements:

• Licenses/Certification- Valid Michigan Nursing License (RN)
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Leadership experience preferred.
