The Nurse Coordinator functions on the multidisciplinary team as an advocate, coordinator and educator for surgical breast and breast oncology patients. Responsible for ensuring all patients with a breast related diagnosis receive quality and comprehensive services. Facilitates patient care throughout the continuum in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Serves as a clinical resource with expertise in breast care and breast oncology care management while also providing guidance to the patient related to scheduling appointments, removing access related barriers including insurance and transportation, and answering clinical care related questions. Serves as a liaison throughout the facility and in the community regarding services provided for this unique patient population. This role will have administrative responsibilities related to the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. The NAPBC provides the structure and resources needed to develop and operate a high quality breast center. The Nurse Coordinator for the Surgical Breast Program will be responsible for following a model for organizing and managing the breast center care coordination to ensure multidisciplinary, integrated, comprehensive breast cancer services. Certification required within 12 months of hire. EducationBachelors Degree : in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
