**Position Summary**
The Website Operational Support Specialist will provide critical stability to Marketing web development by executing practices that will ensure system availability, reliability, and recoverability. This position is for someone who is self-motivated, flexible, and eager to learn.
Empire Today s marketing department creates the face of the company through various initiatives such as online and offline media, digital media, email programs, and print collateral. By promoting Empire Today s brand and line of products, we reach a large audience of potential customers to support the success of Empire Today.
**Responsibilities**
The Website Operational Support Specialist is responsible for managing the health, security, and performance of all the websites, services and APIs built to support digital marketing initiatives. To achieve these goals, this team member will research and follow all relevant industry best practices, oversee routine maintenance procedures, and perform proactive diagnostic tests.
The Website Operational Support Specialist will continuously conduct risk assessments to identify potential problems. Designs, implements, and maintains disaster recovery plan for the website and supportive services. Plans and coordinates exercises to minimize site outages.
To be successful, this Specialist will:
* Provide level 1 and level 2 technical support in a 24/7 production environment.
* Meet regularly with the security team for vulnerability scanning, patching and mitigation requirements.
* Monitor and investigate security threats, health and performance issues with the websites and supportive services.
* Setup and manage the continuous delivery process for the websites and all supported services.
* Manage changes to source code, project documents, and process documents.
* Assist with website updates and releases.
* Use automation tools to simplify operational processes
* Maintain documentation on build and release procedures, and relevant dependencies.
* Work collaboratively and cooperatively with IT infrastructure and database administration teams.
* Raise issues proactively that might impact business success.
* Debug and fix complex systems issues.
* Maintain appropriate technical skills and knowledge, keep up to date with market trends and insights, and collaborate with digital and e-commerce teams.
**Qualifications**
* Experience working with any implementation of a general-purpose web server.
* Understand the http/https protocol.
* Experience working with Active Directory.
* Experience recovering from system disaster situations.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Development tools.
* Understanding of basic network architecture.
* Experience managing Continuous Delivery.
* Experience performing systems/server monitoring.
* History of working collaboratively with development teams and business owners.
* Strong understanding of change management processes and controls.
* Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
