We are currently seeking to hire a Sanitation Operator for our food manufacturing facility in Hillside, NJ.
The Sanitation Operator will be responsible for keeping working areas in the production department in a clean and orderly condition.This operation is to be performed keeping safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety, Regulatory and AAK Foodservice procedures and policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Protect, cover, or remove boxes, material, or other industrial equipment that may be affected by the sanitation process.
- Collect and properly dispose of major dirt and /or product left over on production department floors or pans.
- Clean / prewash heavy oil, grease, and visible dirt from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
- Wash walls and ceiling.
- Transport trash and waste to proper disposal area.
- Start pump to force cleaning solution through production machinery, piping or vats.
- Clean, sanitize, disassemble and assemble equipment according to company procedures.
- Clean processing equipment, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
- Scrub processing tanks, vats, and kettles.
- Clean floors with mop and/or use electrical scrubber.
- Operate industrial truck to transport materials within plant.
- Clean and change screens and filters.
- Must be trained and certified to use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA guidelines.
- Complete all required documentation for procedures performed.
Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Experience reading and understanding MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheets)
- High School diploma or equivalent; or up to 6 months experience or training
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short memos
- Bilingual preferred
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, now and in the future, without sponsorship.
