Description

Support manufacturing operations by performing regular maintenance on production equipment, troubleshooting electrical and electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic, systems to resolve breakdowns or make repairs.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain CNC machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment, including, but not limited to, programmable controls, CNC controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctions, and troubleshoot systems to determine required repair, to dismantle, to replace, to adjust, and/or assemble. Advanced electronic skills and experience necessary in working on CNC machinery, computerized electronic controls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance required to upkeep production and building electrical equipment. Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications. Support all aspects of building maintenance/routine shop preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct facility evaluations to determine the need for major repair and replacement of facility equipment and systems.
  • Interface effectively with internal/external customers.
  • Maintain adequate electrical supplies and repair parts to service machinery and prevent any prolonged down time.
  • Actively participate in various aspects of Continuous Improvement projects which may include but is not limited to 5S, TPM, kaizen events, and set-up reduction events, which is aligned with the commitment to continuous improvement activities in Article II of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Must work safely at all times. Participate in safety improvement initiatives by raising any safety concerns and helping to come up with corrective actions.
  • Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor as appropriate.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department or cell objectives and to develop individuals' skills.


Position Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and CNC and manual machines repair in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings (e.g. blueprints, manuals, wiring diagrams, etc.).
  • Strong preventive maintenance background in addition to troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have facility upkeep skills (pneumatic and hydraulic) knowledge.
  • Experience with Fanuc Controls, Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC preferred.
