**Summary:**
**Security Officer, provides surveillance and protects company and assets for a person, group, and organization. Their duties include patrolling and watching specific lots, buildings and areas. Report any incidents to the General Manager.**
**Essential Duties:**
* **Protect the business property, staff and the environment by keeping the location secure at all times while on duty.**
* **Report and/or call 911 when the property has been violated**
* **Report any suspicious incidents to management or police in detail.**
* **Randomly roam around the company property looking for people or possible safety issues after hours.**
* **Act in a lawful manner while in defense of the property, staff and environment they are in charge of.**
* **Conduct regular and random patrols around the business building and perimeter.**
* **Great interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with business customers and other visitors to the premises.**
* **Detailed understanding of best security policies, practices and the law.**
* **Respond to any emergencies**
* **Keeps a thorough written or web-based log of all activities and observations while on duty.**
* **Keen and observant eye to ensure any suspicious activity does not go unnoticed.**
* **Ability to act with integrity and in a professional manner.**
* **Ability to operate emergency equipment, camera equipment and intruder detection systems.**
* **Attends training classes to keep current with best practices in automotive dealership security as well as Federal, State and Local laws which govern security services.**
* **Maintains a professional appearance.**
* **Perform other tasks as assigned.**
* **Strive for harmony with all associates and customers you may come in contact with.**
**Qualifications:**
**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.**
**Education and/or Experience:**
**Previous experience in law enforcement, security officer, military police or relevant experience in property and asset security. Security Officer should have prior security-related work experience. Experience in working with security equipment such as alarms, monitoring equipment and telephones is required.**
**Language Skills:**
* **Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to monitor and operate sophisticated camera systems and Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.**
**Reasoning Ability:**
* **Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in stressful situations.**
**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:**
* **Valid driver's license**
