Our client, a rapidly growing construction/services company seeks a senior accountant to join their dynamic team!
Responsibilities of the successful senior accountant:
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and analysis.
Manage job costing activities, including tracking work-in-progress (WIP) and percentage completion (% completion) for projects.
Implement and maintain standard costing procedures to accurately assess product/service costs.
Collaborate with pricing teams to set profitability targets and track inventory costs.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and other ad-hoc financial reports.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems.
Provide support during audits and assist in addressing audit findings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
3+ years of experience in general accounting, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Proficiency in intermediate Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, V-lookups).
Experience with ERP systems, demonstrating a strong aptitude for utilizing financial software.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
