Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant: Keller Rohrback L.L.P., a Pacific Northwest-based law firm, has an immediate opening in our Portland office to add a highly qualified commercial litigation legal assistant to our team. The successful candidate will have senior-level experience working in Oregon state and federal courts and arbitrations, and a depth of knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, and processes. This full-time position will primarily support one attorney and occasionally the office s other lawyers with Oregon-based cases. We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, very straightforward by nature, an exceptional proofreader, positive and proactive, and appreciates the challenging work and fast pace of litigation.


Qualified candidates must possess:

  • Exemplary communication skills and ability to quickly build rapport with colleagues, co-counsel, and clients.
  • Fanatical proofreading and editing skills and a keen eye for the details.
  • Experience with e-filing systems, service of pleadings, and calendaring of court-imposed deadlines.
  • Ability to act as the right hand for support, especially in monitoring calendars and keeping attorneys apprised of approaching deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively respond to urgent situations that require a quick turnaround.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Sound critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability as an independent thinker and self-starter with a strong work ethic.


Responsibilities include:

  • Case management, including calendaring and docketing.
  • Preparing pleading and court filings for e-filing in various state-wide courts.
  • Finalizing documents with an eye to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Managing incoming emails, mail, voicemails, calendared appointments, and communication with clients, vendors, and outside counsel.
  • Assist with maintaining client files, handling copy projects, creating working notebooks and organizing records.
  • Travel arrangements.
  • Assisting others as needed.
