**Hourly Full-Time**

**REPORTS TO: STORE MANAGER**

**SUPERVISES:** In coordination with the Store Manager, supervises all warehouse related non-exempt warehouse employees, volunteers, correctional workers, and auxiliary staff.

**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE****:**

* High School degree or equivalent.

* Demonstrated experience in warehouse environment or equivalent type work.

* Managerial experience preferred

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED****:**

* If employee owns his/her own vehicle, must possess current auto insurance for instances in which a personal vehicle is used on TSA time and/or business. Please note that TSA adheres to the federal standards regarding mileage reimbursement

* Comfort with and ability to operate a 20 box truck

* Ablility to operate a forklift

**SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS****:**

* Microsoft Word and Excel preferred

* Lotus Notes, preferred

* Ability to use new software programs with basic training.

**SCOPE OF POSITION****:**

Supervision of all warehouse related staff in daily production, meet daily production goals, ordering supplies as needed. Also, perform duties such as pricing, sorting, hanging, and maintaining a clean and organized production area. Serve as back-up to truck driver and operate forklift as needed.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES****:**

In coordination with and as designated by the Store Manager:

- Personnel

- The Warehouse Supervisor herein after denoted, as (WS) will be responsible for the training and supervision of all employees, volunteers and auxiliary staff working in the warehouse. Handling of personnel matters and documentation required.

- The WS will provide specific written input with reference to the annual evaluations of employees and evaluation of trainees as needed from referring agencies.

- The WS will provide regularly scheduled staff meeting with all production personnel to communicate to the goals of the organization and recommendations for improving operations. The employees will be given an opportunity for input with ideas and concerns that they have regarding the operations.

- The WS shall ensure that the all staff and volunteers will be thoroughly orientated in safety and accident policy and procedures as outlined in The Salvation Army Employee Handbook

General Responsibilities

- The WS will provide training and supervision of all employees, volunteers, and auxiliary staff working in the warehouse.

- WS is responsible for quality and quantity control in all areas of production.

- WS will provide a quarterly documentation to support the pricing of merchandise using other thrift stores in the community as a comparison. Prices in the store will be adjusted to effectively remain viable in the general geographic area.

- WS will be required to work stations as needed to meet productions goals and may need to assisted in other area in the warehouse and store as needed to meet overall store operation needs. This includes driving the truck as needed.

Must be able to operate a forklift and complete any required training and certification.

The WS is to maintain supplies used in daily production and the upkeep of tools, ordering supplies as needed, with the approval of the Store Manager, as needed.

The WS is responsible for the proper disposal of non-saleable items (baled clothing, purses, belts, chemicals, etc.)

All clothing will have dated & color-coded tagging and will remain on the sales floor at full and markdown prices for specific periods. It will be ragged out in a timely manner in general accordance with standard Salvation Army Thrift Store practices.

Any other tasks necessary for the operation of the Thrift Store, Production area, and Fleet management.

Maintenance /Custodial

- The WS is to maintain the workstations, walkways and surrounding areas to ensure a safe work environment.

- The WS will ensure monthly safety inspections are conducted in accordance with Salvation Army Policy

Customer/Community Relations

- The WS is responsible to ensure that production staff positively acknowledge and treat all customers in a courteous manner.

- The WS is responsible to ensure that all staff/workers are treated with the same respect and fairness while working in the store.

- Customer complaints will be handled in a courteous, professional manner by all staff. The WS should personally handle complaints with regard to the donation and production areas, and immediately notify the Store Manager of the facts surrounding the complaint and the disposition thereof.

Must be available to attend all regularly scheduled and mandatory staff meetings regardless of whether they are outside a scheduled shift or standard work day.

Must perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS****:**

* Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis

* Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead

* Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on a hard floor

* Ability to operate telephone

* Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer

* Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.

* Ability to access and produce information from a computer

* Ability to produce written information

* Ability to understand written information including maps

* Ability to operate a forklift

* Ability to handle donated chemicals and paints (using basic safety materials such as gloves and mask) in order to arrange for their disposal

* Ability to operate a motor vehicle, specifically a 20ft box truck
