This position is posted for the 2024-2025 school year. The start date for this position will be in August of 2024.

This position allows remote reporting three days per week with two required days of onsite reporting.

Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is a state-wide, public (tuition-free) K-12 online charter school with a substantial number of students. Our teachers are part of an educational team whose innovative approach to education is providing a dynamic learning experience for students across the state of Pennsylvania through cyber education. Summary:

The Elementary Coding and Technology Teacher will focus on the academic achievement of students by utilizing a variety of web-based educational tools and interactive online classroom sessions. This position is responsible for maintaining positive relationships and communications with students and families.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepare and deliver instruction to students aligned to the PA Standards and Common Core Curriculum
  • Design, deliver, and assess online learning content.
  • Provide ongoing communication with students and parents pertaining to progress, assignment completion, and attendance.
  • Deliver live instruction during virtual class sessions and office hours, including whole-class as well as individual and small group settings.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Principal.
  • Utilize EdInsight to conduct an ongoing analysis of student achievement and assessments. Maintain updated records in EdInsight pertaining to the progress of the students.
  • Proctor standardized testing. Limited overnight travel may be required during the testing period (1-2 times per academic year).


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • PA Instructional I Technology Education K-12
  • PA Instructional II Technology Education K-12 (recommended)
  • Additional consideration given for continuing education, industry recognized credentials and/or certification and/or endorsement
  • Current (dated within a year) Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances
  • The ability to integrate technology into the curriculum and instruction
  • Must have excellent technical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures
  • Passion for utilizing educational technologies as a tool to increase student learning
  • Embrace opportunities to adapt and problem solve in a unique educational environment
  • Enthusiasm for taking on a leadership role within our school community
  • Able to collaborate effectively with other team members
  • Excellent team player, including reliability in working independently
  • Proficient technology skills: Microsoft Office, email, Google Drive, web-based data programs.
  • Not required, but a plus: Comfortable working with Canvas, Zoom, IEP Writer, SCRATCH, LinkIt, Naviance or other educational technology resources
