Job Title: Heavy Maintenance Materials Supervisor

Location: Orlando, FL

Department: Materials

Reports To: Senior Manager of Heavy Maintenance & Repairs

FLSA Status: Exempt


Summary: Responsible for the cost-effective efficient procurement and planning of aircraft spares that meet the requirements of the maintenance organization and FAA regulations for all company-owned entities. Procures services or materials as required to meet the requirements of all company guidelines and ensure inventory levels are accurate, maintained at the proper levels, and secure.


Essential Functions:

  • Directly supervises team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.
  • Trains team members, appraise performance, reward, and discipline team members. Addresses complaints and resolves problems with team members.
  • Works as a liaison between Planning and Maintenance to identify and source material as it relates to heavy check maintenance requirements.
  • Communicates daily with the Heavy Maintenance Material Reps to facilitate real-time support of heavy maintenance operations.
  • Ensures that parts used by National Airlines are on the approved maintenance.
  • Provides list and/or notifies the Quality Assurance Department to update.
  • Tracks loans/borrowed items to ensure they are returned to the appropriate provider in a timely manner to minimize cost.
  • Identifies commonly used and hard-to-procure parts during A, C, and D Checks, and ensure stock levels are sufficient to support the operational needs.
  • Remains engaged with the National Heavy Maintenance team to identify and source unscheduled material requirements in real time.
  • Inputs data into National Airlines computerized inventory control program.
  • Ensures that all company policies/procedures per the GMM and FAA Regulations are adhered to.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • College degree in Supply Chain Management, Aviation, or related fields; 3-5 years of relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 2+ years of aircraft parts inventory control experience
  • Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • May be asked to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and a record that meets our company s insurance standards.
  • Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Strong typing skills
  • Flexibility and agility skills
  • Detail oriented, able to produce accurate work to avoid unnecessary reproduction.
  • Self-initiated, able to complete needed work and/or identify areas that require work.
  • Dependable, completes all assigned tasks, and maintains good attendance.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to use technical manuals, good mechanical aptitude, and solve problems effectively.
  • Computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Office programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with strong work ethic


Work Environment:

  • Office/stockroom
  • Work shifts may vary Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.


Physical Effort:

Heavy physical activity is required by handling objects up to 70 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently. (Medium to Heavy).


Travel/Other Requirements:

Travel, as required.
