**Custodian - Pool**Custodian Department

**Salary Range****:** $2,912 - $4,196/Monthly

**Work Schedule****:** Full-Time, Monday Friday 3.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.; temporary position, expires on or before one year from start date; may be extended; may become permanent; non-exempt classification.

**Essential Functions****:** The incumbent will: sweep; mops; wax and polish floors; clean classrooms, laboratories, shops, locker rooms, blackboards, windows, windowsills, venetian blinds, chalk trays, blackboards, walls, elevators, building stairwells, water fountains, and patio entrances and tables; replenish lavatory supplies; empty wastebaskets and remove trash; replace lamps and light fixtures; unlock and lock doors and windows; vacuum elevator tracks, carpets, and mats; remove graffiti; perform general dusting; disinfect showers; wipe tile; disinfect partitions; and report building repairs to Work Control. The incumbent cooperates with faculty and students in moving tables, chairs, and other furniture and equipment as well as in making minor building maintenance repairs and adjustments in laboratories, classrooms, auditoriums, and in assisting them in setting up and preparing for athletic events, assemblies, and graduation exercises.

**Required Qualifications & Experience****:** Equivalent to one year of experience as a Custodian or Janitor preferred. A basic knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work is preferred. Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties of the position; follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety; operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position; use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication; observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods as required; perform work involving regular physical activity; and establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Ability to move up to 50 pounds safely. Possession of a valid California driver's license. Demonstrates ability and/or interest in working in multicultural/multiethnic environment.
