All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is directly responsible for coordinating and facilitating a variety of dosage specific cognitive-behavioral education programs to juveniles under the supervision of the Department of Community Corrections and Court Services. This position will assume the role of an "agent of change" in a manner that allows probationers to experience, understand, and learn "how to think" instead of "what to think." To empower them to creatively solve problems on their own so that they become less dependent, more apt to succeed, and more likely to be helpful to others. Consistent quality delivery of cognitive services to probationers is required in accordance with the evidence-based practice model. This position will ensure that probationers are being correctly identified, assessed, and taught. The individual chosen for this position will work closely with probation and treatment providers, for the betterment of the juvenile population. Duties will include but are not limited to the implementation of a process driven program to provide dosage specific Cognitive - Behavioral Treatment (CBT) curriculums; implement written policy, which includes clear rational sanctions and incentives for program participation; schedule and facilitate cognitive change groups for juvenile probationers. Establish and maintain a system of open communication with probation officers and other treatment providers, to monitor the progress of program participants while not engaged in the program. Abide by the goals and objectives for cognitive programs and services, as well as methods of evaluations, track and document offender participation, admissions, and discharges.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors' degree in related field and one year of relevant experience related to cognitive instruction, offender instruction, case management or counseling. Certification in or knowledge of criminal cognitive restructuring process such as Truthought is preferred. Understanding of the role substance addiction plays in the cognitive process. Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral presentations.

Salary Range:

$20.60 - $26.94/hr.
