Nuzzo & Roberts, LLC, located in Cheshire, CT is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our growing practice. Successful candidates will work on a variety of claims during all phases of the litigation process, handling all paralegal duties from start to finish on the files. Experience preferred, will train the right person with a "can-do" attitude.
Responsibilities
Obtain, review, and analyze/summarize medical records and prepare detailed correspondence regarding contents.
Draft pleadings and motions and file them with the court.
Maintain all court and company reporting deadlines.
Perform administrative duties (including scheduling, calendar management, organizing case files, reviewing and proofreading all documents and motions).
Prepare and answer Interrogatories and Requests for Production.
Gather and review investigation materials from a variety of sources.
Request records from medical providers, clients, police stations, etc.
Manage and consistently review files in order to keep them moving forward towards resolution.
Qualifications
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with a sharp eye for proofreading.
Excellent writing, spelling, and grammatical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
Demonstrates high level of professionalism in all aspects of the job.
Team player who can also work independently.
State, Federal, Tribal and/or Appellate Court knowledge a plus.
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, and a thorough understanding of Practice Book a plus.
Four-year degree with a solid GPA in Paralegal/Legal Studies or relevant field preferred, not required.
