Role Overview

Performs work that is routine and that involves the development, problem resolution, design, manufacturing methods, and test validation of products to provide the highest level of Engineering Advantage to our customers. Work involves applying pneumatic, electric, electronic, hydraulic, or mechanical factors for motion & fluid control.

Works under direct supervision and within guidelines and previously established practices and procedures. Performs engineering duties in developing products that are innovative to customers and may specialize in mechanical or electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop project goals and objectives, collaborating with management.
  • Interface with customers to identify new product development opportunities.
  • Adhere to APQP process guidelines for project management and product development.
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and cost estimates.
  • Solve complex problems in alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Control project plans, reviewing design, specifications, and schedules to meet milestones.
  • Prepare product layouts and drawings in coordination with designers and drafters.
  • Verify dimensions, materials, and assembly relationships.
  • Provide instructions for prototype specifications to Model Makers and Production.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between manufacturing, product lines, and customers.
  • Work independently on daily tasks and receive guidance on new designs or applications.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineers to develop and perform test procedures.
  • Verify and validate product performance through simulation, analysis, and empirical tests.
  • Complete documentation required for product release to production, including BOMs, detailed drawings, assembly procedures, and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Critical Competencies for Success


  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college in Engineering
  • 4+ years of design and testing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 4+ years of experience with solid modelling software (Autodesk Inventor our Solid Works preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience with engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is required.
  • Knowledge of Fluid flow simulation software (e.g., CFD) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA and APQP process principles is required.
  • Knowledge of DAQ Data Collection systems (e.g. LabVIEW) required.
  • Good written and oral cross-functional communication skills with engineering, tool designers, manufacturing, and manufacturing engineering personnel
  • Strong skills in Engineering techniques including technical writing, failure investigation/root cause analysis, and design for manufacturability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word
