**HERES WHAT YOULL GET TO DO**

The **Laborer** is our entry-level position that is critical to support plant needs by ensuring a safe and productive work environment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to use different skills every day as you learn the aggregate industry and fill in for vacancies in various areas of our plant.

* Conduct a complete pre-and post-shift safety inspection

* Operate tugboat and pontoon

* Monitor density, TPH, depth readings, flow meters to maintain maximum feed rate to the processing plant

* Visually monitor production area for changes in material quality, adjust feed as necessary

* Maintain dredge availability to meet or exceed planned efficiency goals

* Ability to perform high levels of maintenance and servicing on dredge such as bearings, gearboxes, shakers with little assistance

* Communicate with plant operators when changes in feed rate or product quality occur

* Communication with plant crew on all safety and maintenance needs

* Start equipment in the right order to operate the equipment.

* Know the location of other workers prior to and during the start and running of the plant.

* Load barges, joystick operation coordination to avoid breaking cable winches

* General housekeeping of barge, equipment and land office, plant.

* Other duties as assigned

* Load and unload trucks following safe operating procedures

* Operate mobile equipment on plant property (loader, haul truck, water truck, etc.)

* Assist with plant tasks including lubrication, maintenance, repairs

* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures; assist with physical inspections of plant property/departments.

This position will be based in our Morris, Illinois Plant.

**HERES WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR**

* High school diploma or GED required

* Previous experience in an open-pit mine a plus

* Experience using (or ability to learn) plant mobile equipment

* Ability to use a shovel, broom, jackhammer, sweeper, forklift, bobcat, and vacuum truck.

* Highly dependable, ability to work in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to operate mobile equipment (forklift, tractors, trucks, skid steer) and machinery a plus.

* Experience in mining or heavy construction environment required

* Experience working on a dredge highly preferred

* Knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, and Coast Guard safety rules and regulations

* Good hand-eye coordination

* Ability to work different extended hours, holidays, and/or overtime required

* Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in the same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
