ECS is seeking a Consultant - Events Specialist to work in our Washington, DC office - remote.Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Description:

ECS is seeking an experienced Event and Marketing Specialist to support innovation focused conferences, learning sessions, symposiums, and showcases. The specialist will work with the events team to create immersive event experiences and integrated campaigns for the Veterans Health Administration's (VHA) Office of Healthcare Innovation and Learning (OHIL) program. Leveraging a strong understanding of events, conferences and meetings, and/or experiential marketing industries, strong communication skills and having a successful track record detailing attendee experience and journey, the Specialist builds relationships and works collaboratively across programs.

Position Description

  • Supports Innovation event series including demonstration events, symposiums, conferences, learning sessions, symposiums, and showcases throughout the year.
  • Works cross-functionally and partners with colleagues on event and campaign strategies, the Veteran journey, alignment to event and/or VHA brand and campaigns, promotion, implementation and execution.
  • Acts as project manager of programs/initiatives/campaigns and associated creative deliverables, timelines, and budgets, including maintaining internal and external partnerships and vendor relationships. Ensures event deliverables are on time and on budget.
  • Collaborates with OHIL programs and clients, communications, marketing, and project management teams to ensureevents are surpassing attendee and revenue goals, exceeding attendee expectations, and reaching intended and new audiences.
  • Drafts event communications including, but not limited, to emails, social media, talking points, scripts and related content for assigned events event series.
  • Participates in bringing the theme, vision, look and feel to life at each and every OHIL event and understands big picture and organizational mission and goals.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


Salary Range: $55,000 - $85,000

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • 3years of related experience in a similar work environment, such as a PR or marketing agency or in-house for large brand(s)
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong project management skills and history of success
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly articulate a story or idea to internal or external audiences
  • Exemplary judgment, organization, and attention to detail
  • Creativity and intellectual curiosity especially as it relates to traditional and nontraditional events and associated trends

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines
