Job Purpose


The Installation Operations Manager s role is to own commercial furniture projects from order acknowledgement through a successful installation.

  • Provide labor estimates for projects
  • Connect with customers and coordinate installations to meet client s requests.
  • Manage installation issues and close tickets after project completion.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Interface with Sales staff for preliminary project requirements and identification of client services that are needed for each opportunity on a weekly scheduled meeting; a face to face with each Sales Consultant producing Install and operation calendar and workforce schedule on a shared drive.
  • Manage installation department for profitability by costing man hours/cost to all projects with job costing report within 72 hours after job/project is completed.
  • Recording all data in Shared File for communication and coordination of all projects on a continual day to day process.
  • Manage inventory / product using Netsuite ERP.
  • Teach and educate FLS Contract Technicians and grow the team.
  • Schedule vendor training, updates and presentations to installation technicians.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintenance of installation library materials, tools, equipment and products
  • Responsible for collecting sign off paperwork and performing walkthroughs at installations; producing a punch list within 48 hours from completion.
  • Responsible for the scheduled plan of delivery within 5 7 working days of order entry.
  • Complete time sheets and other administrative responsibilities of yourself and lead technicians with administrative responsibilities.
  • Installation planning requires use of 3rd party sub-contractors responsible for adding as vendors and seeking their technical abilities to fit the project on a national basis with FLS Clients/
  • Produce all punch lists, warranty orders and service call for prompt solutions for the client.


Required Education and Experience

  • Four to five years of commercial furniture installation and operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Expert level for reading furniture drawings, plan and 3-D; specifications, finishes, validations, installation drawings and BOM breakdown for driving punch free installations.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associates or bachelor s degree
  • Proficient in using a drill, impact driver, portable band saw and laser level.


Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment, both client and Furnitureland. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. Must be adaptable to changing working priorities.

20% travel possible.
