Position Title: EHS Specialist
Job Summary: As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe working environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, conduct audits and inspections, and provide training and guidance to employees on EHS policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.
- Program Development: Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and improve safety performance.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and identify hazards in the workplace. Develop and implement controls to minimize risks.
- Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses. Develop corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Audits and Inspections: Conduct EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans. Coordinate drills and exercises to test response procedures.
- Waste Management: Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal in compliance with regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to EHS activities and performance metrics.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS performance and processes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management in a pharmaceutical or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, lead cross-functional teams, and drive results
