EFK Moen, LLC, is a civil engineering design consulting firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri with additional office locations in St. Charles, Missouri, Chicago and Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Atlanta, Georgia. We are currently seeking a roadway design engineer for a full-time position in our Atlanta, Georgia office. Our company offers a locally competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.

Job Description:

The roadway engineer will perform civil engineering design services in a team-oriented environment. Project emphasis is transportation engineering design for both public and private sectors which range in scope from small to multimillion-dollar designs. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include state DOTs and other governmental agencies - municipal, county and state.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive:

  • Daily production of civil engineering design plans
  • Work as part of a team to deliver quality design that adheres to the project budget and schedule
  • Responsible and accountable for client/customer satisfaction and technical project execution
  • Performs other job duties as assigned

Knowledge/Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university required
  • EIT Certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • 2 years of hands-on plan preparation experience for public agency roadway projects
  • Proficiency in Microstation as well as a related roadway design package (OpenRoads Designer, Geopak, Inroads, MX) although candidates with an AutoCAD/Civil3D background will also be considered.
  • Experience with drainage or signage design is a plus
  • Familiarity with DOT/AASHTO Standards
  • Strong verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and other general office software

Physical Qualifications:
  • Ability to sit at desk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to type and/or use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Sufficient visual ability to focus attention on extended use of electronic documents and software
