Activity Aide Patient Transporter
Job Summary
The key function of the Activity Aide Patient Transporter is to accompany residents to, during, and returning from specialty and routine off-site care visits. This position will perform in accordance with established Villa procedures, standards of practice, and Director guidance.
Essential Functions
- Escort residents to and from physician appointments, dialysis, specialty or routine off-site care visits, and any other transportation necessary.
- Practicing safe lifting techniques, assists patients in and out of various medical type vehicles.
- When not transporting, the Aide will:
- Assist the activities department in caring for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of our residents according to the individualized plan of care.
- Assists in daily planned activities by following the Activity Program Guidelines, Programming Guide(s) and direction from immediate supervisor.
- Assist in activities which will provide entertainment, inter-communication, exercise, relaxation, and opportunities to express creative talents and fulfill basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs as planned by the Activities Director
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in SNF, LTC, ALF preferred.
- Previous experience in patient transportation is a plus!
- Positive, friendly attitude and desire to work with the geriatric population required.
